BBQ Sauce

We also found out that we are 47th in the "Top 100 BBQ Sauces in the World"! 

 

We just found out that we won 1st place at the USA BBQ Championship in Las Vegas this past weekend.  There were 39 teams that competed in the BBQ sauce category.  Thanks to our friends, Matt Brailey and Bram Britcher from 155 South Competition team who entered it for us to see where we stood.  Looks like we have a winner.  We should be ready to bottle it in just a few more weeks.  We'll keep you posted.

Halloween 2010

Had our second annual Halloween get-together.  Was so much fun and we just love handing out the "Parent Treats" to the parents along with the candy to all the kids.  Had a great turnout.  We served Moink Balls (meatballs wrapped in bacon, BBQ rub, then BBQ sauce added after completing the cook), and Jalapeno Poppers (jalapenos, halved and filled with cream cheese, cheddar cheese, then wrapped in bacon).  These were smoked for an hour and a half.  Then David tried a new beef recipe that turned out great.  The parents were very happy to receive their treats.  Hope to do this again next year.

Smokin' For the Gold, Placerville - 10/2/10

We had a great time at the Smokin' For The Gold BBQ Competition in Placerville.   Ended up 5th place overall,  Second in pulled pork and fourth in ribs.  Met some great people and really enjoyed ourselves.  Looking forward to next year's competition.

Blazin' Hog and Zydeco Music Festival

Wow, what a great time we had at the 4th Annual Blazin' Hog and Zydeco Music Festival. Gave out 100 pieces of chicken in 7 minutes, 200 ribs in 10 minutes and at least 300 samples of tri-tip in 15 minutes. People enjoyed it.  We did well in the contest.

Especially enjoyed that my cousins that live in Mariposa got to come and have fun with us.  Music was great and we got to meet some new people.  Really enjoyed the whole weekend.  Looking forward to next year!!!

Sycamore Creek Vineyards & Winery Harvest Festival & Grape Stomp

We sure had a great time vending at Sycamore Creek on 9/11. People were great, weather was great, music was great and the wine was great.  Couldn't ask for more than that.

Harvest Festival - 9/5 & 9/6

Really looking forward to this weekend's Harvest Festival.  We are vending at Cuda Ridge Winery on East Avenue in Livermore on Sunday 9/5 and Monday 9/6, 12 pm to 5 pm.  We will be serving pulled pork sliders, hot link sandwiches, jambalaya, caesar salad, ribs and a meat platter.

Garden Wedding

We did a catering event at a beautiful garden wedding yesterday.  It was so nice and a lot of fun. Couldn't have asked for a better setting.  Gorgeous.  Congratulations Julie and Taras.  Thank you so much for letting us participate in your special day.

Beautiful South Lake Tahoe

We are going to one of the most beautiful places, South Lake Tahoe, to do a catering job for friends.  They are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary and their daughter & son-in-law are celebrating their 20th anniversary.  Congratulations to both couples.  This is going to be so much fun!

Way Out West BBQ Competition

Getting ready for the Way Out West BBQ Competition this Saturday, 7/3/10 in Stockton. So far there are 39 teams signed up.  Should be lots of fun.  People's Choice (attendees purchase tickets and each team sells their samples for the tickets) should be interesting since it starts at the same time as the competition turn-ins.
